I just went online and reserved a pick for 12pm on the 25th for the 6s+, 128GB.

It made no mention of the upgrade program. Do I set it up that day? And is it OK that I am only a year into my current contract? I don't see why I wouldn't be able to just activate the phone on my current line?

I think you have to not be in a contract or current leasing / payment plan agreement to do the apple upgrade program

I don't understand why that would be. I can buy the phone outright and do it, so what is the difference?

Shoot, didn't realize I had to do it from the upgrade page. Just went back and the space grey was sold out now. Changed it to the silver and I am good to go. I still don't see why you won't be able to do this and replace your current phone even if you are in the middle of your contract.
