Anything to look out for? just need the purchase date to make sure the warranty is good, I think. Besides that, I don't understand why people would buy from apple instead of something like this. Seller has good rep and we have talked. What else do I need to make sure to figure out/acquire from him/watch out for? He will send the receipt.

Thanks guys

Good rep at 97.5%? And have you looked at the feedback? So far all the transactions are for goods below $100! I would certainly stay clear!

Oh and a refurbished one would have been cheaper (and certainly safer!)

I have no buyers remorse

I think you still received a good deal, since there would have been tax added if bought from the Apple store. Which would have added $125 more based on Nevada state tax.

I just bought the same thing and paid $2,133 on eBay. New in box and no issues with seller.

Geez, the seller only has 1 neg and that's for supposedly delayed shipping. Not a felony for sure, maybe, if true, a misdemeanor. That really shouldn't deserve a "stay clear" warning. As for small sales and the price, that's another issue.

I just paid about the same from Apple (refurb), free ship etc for the identical spec. I just feel better about buying from an authorized seller. I have never had issue with buying a refurb'd product ever.

Mine will be here next week.

As long as you're happy with your purchase, that's all that matters.

I bought that one. It went out of stock on the site right after my transaction was confirmed. :)

He didn't give me purchase date, but I just called Apple Support and they gave it and added it to my Support Profile. So I've been very happy with my purchase. Next I'm getting the 1TB SSD to make this laptop complete. lol

Please tell me how are you planning on upgrading an ssd on a retina macbook?

#yes

I got the computer, it came with the receipt, it's fully covered under warranty until may 2015. I unwrapped it myself. I got a new ME294LL/A shipped to my door for $2,200. WINNING!

I would buy this and then swap out my 512GB and sell that for about $400-450 on ebay.

I think what he's getting at is that they're unupgradable? maybe? at least the RAM is soldered down idk about the flash storage

The SSD is upgradeable, as long as it's from another Late 2013 MBA or MBP.

You don't need a receipt for Apple warranty, it goes on your profile. You can check the serial no before purchase too. I did it the other day with a iphone, guy told me it was brand new and it came up as registered 6 months ago. You also don't need the receipt for a warranty claim either.
Enjoy your new mac.
