Certainly, my 12 Pro Max screen response died right after that 14.2.1 update. No restart nor Mac restore would resolve the problem. Ended up returning phone and getting another 12 Pro Max which hasn’t yet arrived..

I have had no issues with updating to any firmware. Sounds like you might have had a hardware failure.
