Did my hard drive crash?

Today I updated my MacBook Pro (Mid 2012; non Retina) to Mountain Lion. It was also done updating (2 minutes left) and all of a sudden the loading bar jumped back and it said 20 minutes left until Mountain Lion finishes installing. What happened? Did my hard drive crash?

Once it finished everything was fine. No lost data or anything.

Sounds like the estimate was just off... How long did it take overall?

This happened to a bunch of us and it seems to just be a glitch with the installer. Definitely not our hard drive. There's a thread on it here:
