Did my iPhone 4S just died on me?

I received my first iPhone a couple a days ago.. its been a joy to use it till this morning I pulled it out of his charger, locked it and since then I don't seem to be able to get it up again.. I played around with some apps just before I pulled it out of the charger so I know there was nothing wrong with it then.

I tried every button on the thing, but the screen remains black.. nothing happens even when I keep holding the on/off switch.

Try pressing the power and home buttons simultaneously until an Apple logo appears.

eh? okay that worked!
so did I accidentally turned my iPhone off? What happened?

owkay, I just learned that was a forced restart.. it did the trick!

so thx assfeis! you saved me a trip to the local reseller
