Hi guys,

I had my battery replaced in my MacBook Air 2018. I don't think it was an authorized service, but it's a popular one where I live and they claim to use original batteries from Apple.

That being said, they assembled my MacBook wrong and it made my touchpad louder and there's a visible gap in it. Also, battery life is not what I expected, it only lasts about 5-6h. But what's the worst is that my MacBook got visibly warmer. It's always quite warm at the bottom, even when I just type in a text file.

Can you guys confirm what's the normal expected temperature? I run this command:
Bash:
sudo powermetrics --samplers smc |grep -i "CPU die temperature"

Now it gives me the following results:
Code:
CPU die temperature: 74.50 C

Is this normal? Can battery replacement increade MacBook's temperature?

Is it doing anything other than idling? If just idling that’s way too hot
