Sorry for asking such a newb question but there is a guy selling a pcie card that I would like to purchase. He said it came out of a quad 2.5 g5 but I thought that the g5s were pcix. any help would be great.
The early G5s were PCI-X, the later were PCI-e (or PCI-Express). Basically if it was single or 2Xsingle processor, it was PCI-X, if it was dual core or 2Xdual core, it was PCIe.

Download Mactracker (from macupdate.com, etc) and use it to see what the hardware is on any Mac or model. I have a late 2005 model Power Mac G5, Dual Core 2.0GHz, and it has PCIe slots, so I suspect that quad core model does too. But check Mactracker to make sure.
