Previously, Siri would write my name in text but not say it. For example, the text might say "Blah blah blah, Brian," but the voice would just say "Blah blah blah". Today, Siri started vocalizing my name as well. Anyone else notice this? Am I going crazy?

No, did it to me, too! I thought it was because of my unusual name, Verleen. Amazingly enough, it's even pronounced correctly.

What I noticed was that if your name is at the end she does't say it, but if your name is in the beginning of a sentence she says it.

I guess that's one benefit for it being on a Server - Apple can easily update phrases/words/pronunciations without the user updating their software.

Yes, because I get a ton of people that don't get it right, even though it's exactly like it looks.

This evening I was showing my brother Siri and during a command his wife started laughing. Of course the command made no sense but Siri said "Henry, I don't know what you're saying". It's the first time it's called me by my name.

Siri also started saying my name yesterday, and pronounces it correctly even though other text to speech programs like to pronounce it "frankie", it's "Francie".

Siri can't pronounce Alia - should be Ah-leah, and she says it A-leah. I wonder if they will let us correct pronunciation some time in the future.

I don't think Siri is to blame for mispronouncing an overly common name purposely misspelled to seem exotic or unique

Aleah Alia Aaliyah Aleigha Alea Ahleea

Call me stupid but how/where would Siri gather your name?

Save yourself as a contact in contacts.
Settings ===> General ===> Siri ===> My Info.
Siri now knows who you are, and can establish relationships in your phone as well.

To answer the OP, Siri now says my name and says it correctly. Most people screw it up the first time.

Siri is downright creepy...

Go ahead, talk to Siri as your face is being photographed and entered into the FBI database.

Don't believe it?

Keep practicing your denial :)

(I know, I know, your perfect & have nothing to worry about)

Riveting tale hippie. Now get back out to Wall Street, your friends are waiting in their bongo circles.
