I'm looking on swappa and I'm seeing 11 pro max 256 gig being sold for less than 750, I know iphones loss value like all other phones but this year it seems a bit more than usual.

New design did it in? Hectic rush to upgrade?

I’m of those who upgrades every year and tries to sell my old phone. I think $750 might be a little on the low side, but it’s in the ballpark for ‘normal’.

I will say that right after the new phones are released the value for the previous model tanks because of all the people who upgrade and want to sell their old phone. There’s a lot more on the market and that makes the value drop. Unfortunately, right now is probably about the worst time to be selling an 11 pro max, since the 12 pro max just came out.

Nope. If anything, it kept previous iPhones value rock solid.

The XS Max for example still sells for a decent chunk of money and it's a 2 year old iPhone. This is where small incremental updates to hardware shines because the value retains for the "older" phones.

It's similar to Porsche and their 911 car--it mostly looks the same but the previous cars retain their value because of that.
