Did they change anything for Apple Watch 3?

I didn't even realize it got updated to the latest OS. Earlier I had to unpair the watch but now it is as easy as it is for the AW6. Both got updated overnight

They supposedly fixed the issue with the series 3 not having enough space to update.

It is great they did it, I just wonder why it took literally years to get it done.
