Did they drop the 7 Product (RED) edition?

Was this actually announced or has it quietly vanished following the announcement of the X?

Well I was waiting for this event to see if I would be underwhelmed by the 8 and the X (and I am on both counts),plus the inevitable price drop on the 7, so I decided that I would get a 7 in red...except it seems to have gone. Crap.

Damn, that's not good. Maybe wait to let the dust settle. Still shows up in the search, but page itself is gone.

Might be able to find it at a local store if there's some stock left.

Rolled through the local Apple Store and they said they're not for sale anymore.

I was hoping there would be a Red edition of the 8 or X but I guess not. I'd also had the thought of just picking up a Red 7 if I was underwhelmed but they've gone too now.
