My friend's daughter has a new white iPhone 4 from Verizon. They got it a week ago. She was wondering why there was a strange email address associated her App Store app on the phone. When she clicked Update All it would prompt her for a password and displayed an @yahoo.com email address that she has no idea who it belongs to.

There were a few games and a Facebook app already on the phone. At first I thought someone at the Verizon store may have loaded some apps on it. But they said they ordered it online and had it shipped. The apps and that address associated with it were there out of the box.

Sounds to me like she was sold a used iPhone as new.

What do you think?

Sounds like that to me as well. Call them up and demand a brand-new one.

Maybe the rep at Verizon accidentally synced it with iTunes during the activation process?

It was ordered online and delivered to their home. They were never in the presence of a Verizon rep. All setup was done at their home.
