I recently transferred most of the files from my Mac onto a PC running 64-bit Vista, via LAN, using Windows Sharing.

When I started using the Mac again, it seemed to be working fine. Then Photoshop refused to open any file because of a "program error". I had never seen that one before, so I decided to verify the disk using Disk Utility - it checked out ok.

I figured it wouldn't hurt to run DiskWarrior anyway, so I rebooted and checked the drive. The B-Tree was so badly damaged that it couldn't be repaired. I checked the second partition on that drive and it had no problems. So I moved on to check my files partition on a second drive; again, the damage was too severe to fix.:eek: The second partition on the drive was, like the first drive, working ok.

I only run DW about every 4-6 months because the drives always check out fine. It's possible that something happened to them in that time. What I find odd is that both of the partitions that were hosed beyond repair were the ones that transfered files to Vista.

Could Vista have done this somehow? All of these partitions are always mounted. The two that were OK are the backups. I don't understand why this would have happened. It's been ages (system 7?) since I had a major problem with a disk directory.

Edit: What would be the safest way to get the data off? I was thinking of using CCCloner and then running a file scan to remove the corrupted ones.
