For the last several months my series 7 SS apple watch has been at 80% battery health and a few weeks ago it finally hit 79% and I got the battery needs service message. Last week I go to the apple store and the genius runs a diagnostics check and sends it to apple for a replacement. Yesterday I get a text saying the repair couldn't be done and they were sending my watch back. I called apple and they claimed the battery health of my watch was 82%. They claim all they did was update my watch to watch OS26 and ran a diagnostics and it was 82%. I've never had a software update make the battery health go up so I don't know if I believe that, usually the battery health goes down after a software update. I get my watch back yesterday and sure enough it now shows 82% battery health. It was clearly below 80% or the genius wouldn't have sent the watch in for battery repair. Im going to have to try to sell the watch now because it took me over a year to go from 82% down to 79% and even if I get it back to 79% apple could magically make it go back over 80% again.
Did anyone see their battery health go up from installing Watch OS 26?
