Basically this thread is basically asking whether you order your macbook online or did you actually go out and buy it from an apple store.

If you did, can you tell me of your experiences?

I bought a Macbook Pro in the store one time. I walked in, told someone the model I wanted, and I paid for it with my credit card. Then I drove home.

I also bought a Macbook Pro online one time. I clicked on the model I wanted along with the various options they give you on the webpage. I clicked checkout and entered my credit card details. They shipped it to me via Fedex.

I bought my iMac from online store as carrying it would have been in my arse but my sister bought her MacBook from reseller as they had it for 150€ off.

You can go to an apple store to use your student thing to get your free ipod touch if you buy a mac right?

I bought my Wife's 13" MBP from Amazon last week. It was $1159 ($50 less than Apple's price) plus I didn't pay tax and received free two day shipping. Had a great experience and will use them in the future!

I got my MacBook from an Apple Authorised Reseller. In my area there's a group of shops called KRCS that sell Macs and Apple stuff new. I could've gone to the Apple store, but KRCS was closer.

I bought mine from the Apple Store at Bridge Street in Huntsville, AL. I actually got a better price in the store than I did online, because I had configured what I wanted to get SEVERAL times online, and the student discount was only like $50. But when I went to the store, the guy gave me $100 off. So I actually got a better deal in the store than I did online. :)

I did mine over the phone as I qualified for the educational discount but was going to be off campus for a while.

Was good & fast.

If it weren't for the fact that they are downloading some software for free right now, I would just order mine online. I just received a program through UPS and apple.com and it barely took 24 hours to get to my doorstep. They were absolutely phenomenal. I adore Apple.

UPS are mad.

My macbook was dispatched at 4.59pm 450 miles away from where I live and my door bell rang around 8.30am the next day with the delivery.

I didn't even pay for or request any express delivery.
