Greetings,

I want to buy a web designing software for the Mac. I have been given to understand that Freeway is a good product. It is available as "Freeway AS" at Appstore for $29.00 and as "Freeway Express" for $49.00 as the Freeway website. I would like to know what is the difference between the two.

Regards,

Abdul Shaikh

A quick compare between the Mac App Store version and what's on the developer's site shows that the developer is now promoting version 6 but the MAS version is 5.

Straight from their FAQ
Why isn't Freeway 6 available on the App Store?
Apple have introduced new requirements on App Store applications. Unfortunately, Freeway 6 cannot meet these requirements. Freeway 5.5 will continue to be made available on the App Store at a reduced price. Customers purchasing this version will be entitled to an upgrade discount to the latest version.

Are there any differences between Freeway on the App Store and the version on the Softpress site?
Freeway on the App Store has three main differences. It doesn’t need serializing so doesn’t have a serialization dialog. It can’t automatically convert Flash Videos into iPhone and iPad ready QuickTime movies. It doesn’t have an Import from iPhoto option – this is already available in the Open dialog in Snow Leopard and above.

Thanks, I will opt for the version which is available at the apple store.
