Hi guys,

Sorry if this has been posted. I had a look around and didn't see a definite answer (but saw some related threads).

Does anyone have both the leather Smart Cover (not case from the air 2) and the polyutherene Smart Cover?

Apart from the obvious difference in material, does anyone have thoughts? I am interested to know if the polyutherene is noticably lighter. Is it?

Thanks!

In my experience the leather is nicer but will probably show scratches a bit more, use a leather conditioner/cleaner on it. The Polyutherene case will show dirt and greasy fingers more and will probably wear quicker.

I went with leather. Go to your local Apple store and try them both.

Thanks for your reply. I originally got the leather as well and it does feel great. I just bought the polyurethane one yesterday. Also feels great (leather is a bit nicer though).

I doubt anyone cares but if you do, the polyurethane one is SLIGHTLY lighter. It weighs 96-97g on my scale and the leather one weighs 106/107g.

I just never cared for the feel of the poly - it feels "slimy" to me.

I have a leather case on my iPhone, and it shows scratches way more than the poly case that I have on my iPad. The poly case does feel a little more slimy, but I don't think the extra $$ is worth it for the leather

I was very reluctant to part with my Midnight Blue Air 2 :apple: leather case ( bought since Air 2 launch) ; it would'nt fit the 10.5 inch hence had to let go. Yeah it was value for money indeed.

I have an iPhone leather case too and an old iPad Air 2 leather case. Both scratched easy but these ones don't as much. Just my view.

After about 2 weeks the phone feels "slimy" you're right. But I think it may be different with the iPad as your hand isn't covering it all over right? But seems like similar material.
