Difference between Macbook and Macbook Pro?

I have never owned a Mac before, but I am sure my next computer will change that. What is the difference between a Macbook and a Macbook Pro?

There are a few other ongoing threads discussing this but IMO the biggest differences are that the Pro has firewire, a screen that looks better from odd viewing angles, a better video card, an express card slot, and potentially a backlighted keyboard (depending on which MacBook model you were looking at).
