I am currently using the fatter 30 pin cable for my ipad 2.
I have a brand new 30 pin cable which I haven't use and I am thinking of using it instead
Is there any difference? Are all 30 pin cables able to output 2.1a of current?
I can't seem to google for the info anywhere on the difference of these 2 cables.

No difference. I have both cables. The smaller one I have came with my iPod dock that I bought and the larger one was a replacement cable from Apple for my iPod Classic. Both will work the same. I just find the larger one easier to use when attached directly to my iPod. The other one is always attached to my dock.

Nope, just a new design and no more locking.

Cool, thanks for the info :D
