I am reconfiguring my Time Capsule and see there are two options for securing my wireless network with a password. What is the difference between WPA/WPA2 Personal and WPA2 Personal. Is one more secure than the other? Why are there two options to choose from? These are two options in the drop down menu in Airport Utility.

Thanks

WPA2 Personal is only compatible with devices that support WPA2 (which is more secure than WPA1).

WPA/WPA2 Personal will use WPA2 with devices that support it, and will fall back to the less-secure WPA1 if the device doesn't support it.

If you're concerned about security, try WPA2 Personal first. If all of your devices can connect, then keep it on that setting.

My understanding is that as far as security.

WEP: Can be cracked in 2 minutes with a single click
WPA: Is not too much better than WEP
WPA2: Is pretty secure, as long as you use a long complex password
