hi all!
i'm thinking on buying a new macbook pro i7, but i'm a bit confused about the differences between the display options.

MacBook Pro 15-inch Glossy Widescreen Display (default)
MacBook Pro 15-inch Hi-Res Glossy Widescreen Display
MacBook Pro 15-inch Hi-Res Antiglare Widescreen Display

is there any difference in the display panels in therms of bits, like 6 or 8bit, so i can get more colour depth? or is "just" the resolutions and surface finishing?

thks in advance

The latter. Color depth is the same; resolution and surface finish are different.

MacBook Pro 15-inch Glossy Widescreen Display (default): 1440 by 900, glossy

MacBook Pro 15-inch Hi-Res Glossy Widescreen Display: 1680 by 1050, deeper blacks, reflective, stronger colors, black bezel

MacBook Pro 15-inch Hi-Res Antiglare Widescreen Display: 1680 by 1050, no glare, people say the colors are more washed out, better for eyes if glare is a problem, silver bezel.

i really thought Apple was bringing back LED-backlit glossy display with IPS technology for notebooks, like they did with the new iMacs.

but unfortunately, i was wrong.

cheers
