In my current macbook pro, I have:

I have: Processor Name: Intel Core i7
Processor Speed: 2.7 GHz

How is this different than what just came out? Thanks!

Clearly I must be missing something --- I have a dual core 2.7 i7 ... Is that FASTER than the newer 13" iMac?!

----------

I mean faster than macbook pro ... (not iMac)

It depends on the configuration you choose. From Apple's MBP specs:
2.5GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor (Turbo Boost up to 3.1GHz) with 3MB shared L3 cache

Configurable to 2.9GHz dual-core Intel Core i7 (Turbo Boost up to 3.6GHz) with 4MB shared L3 cache.
One is slower, the other, faster.

My macbook pro i bought without any hardware upgrades. It's strange to me the default build is a slower chip, although yes, it can be configured for more ...
