Differences with 3G iPhone

So my parents FINALLY gave me the OK to get an iPhone (thank Jesus Christo). So Friday is the big day for me. I realize that the 3G version is most likely coming out relatively soon. It's not imperative that I have 3G on my phone (EDGE is fine for me) but I was wondering- besides the network speeds, what else should/will be updated. Do you think the OS will be the same? New hardware? Give me your thoughts.

Note: this isn't stopping me from buying one I'm just curious to see what you guys think.

Rumors point to more Camera Megapixels, possibly different finish, and maybe more storage.
