Different 3GS to 4th Gen question: Keep 3GS as iPod

I am going from the 3GS to a new 4th Gen iPhone. Instead of selling the 3GS, can I use it without a sim for an iPod / iPhoto backup ? It could even be a backup phone in case the 4th Gen goes down.

Yep you can and if you want to use it as a backup phone, you have to buy a microsim adapter since the new iPhone uses microsim
