I want to buy applecare for a new unibody MBP. The applecare part number on apple.com is MB588LL/A whereas if I search on Amazon for the same 3 year applecare for a MBP, the part number shows up as MA515LL/A. Is there any difference at all? They both say it's for the MBP product.

There is probably no difference, but make sure to trust the one on apple.com! Make sure with apple before buying from amazon.:D;)

MA515FE/A is the current product (LL/A in the states.)

That other product code is the big box version - hasn't been used for ages.

same for Imac..Apple Store number is MB585LL/A while Amazons is MA520LL/A
for 20 bucks difference in price sure would be nice to know if Amazons will work or not
