OK, so I just got a 17'' Macbook Pro running Snow Leopard. I work at a school that just switched from windows to Mac, and we use Smart Boards in class. I was wondering if there was any way to set it up where the projector has a completely different desktop-dock, icons, and windows included-than the computer itself. With windows, there was a simple way to set this up so I could put up questions for the students to work on and still be able to work on my own work at my desk without having to have two computers altogether. I talked to the Apple rep our school dealt with, and he didn't have any ideas...

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated?

If you turn off display mirroring, you can extend your desktop onto the projector, and then in effect leave a word document on that "screen" while you get on with your Dock etc on your laptop screen.

I was hoping to be able to do work on both screens... would doing this allow that or would it just freeze whatever was on the screen when I unmirrored the projector?
