Different display qualities on windows 7 chrome and internet explorer on mbp retina?

Long title but anyway. I don't understand why the quality of google chrome is so much worse as compared to internet explorer... This seems to have suddenly happened overnight and I don't know how to fix it.

For the record, I set the text size to a custom 200x and the screen resolution to 2880x1800.
