Different display scaling settings?

Hi,
I that when I plug a 4K display in my Mid 2015 MBP, the display settings are different when I use a 2K monitor.



I'm aware that those are different monitors but I just wonder why the scaling settings change in this way and I wonder why I cannot scale my 1440p monitor to adjust the font size in the same way as the 4k

ok so if I understand correctly, it's because the 4k display is recognised as a retina display
