This has been driving me crazy for some time and haven't seen anyone discuss it:

Originally, with the iPhone 2.0 software, when I searched in the Google Maps app, if I zoomed or panned away from the original search area, more pins would drop in to show additional results. Now, if I search say in the Downtown area and want to see results to the west, I pan where I want to see more results, but then have to bring back the search bar and run the search again. I believe this behavior changed for me with the 2.0.1 update (it could have been 2.1), and I have never seen it return to the original behavior since, although I had hoped it might return in 2.2 (it did not).

1. Does anyone still have pins dropping in to show additional results when they pan or zoom away from the original search area?

2. Does anyone else remember having this behavior? I think it was very useful- I remember seeing restaurant results for a trip across Illinois by scrolling along our route and having the pins drop in, rather than having to re-search 1000 times.

Many thanks
