Buying since about 2016, I've worked with three of these, two 2015 1st generation, one is ML302LL/A, the other maybe the same, I am checking ... another 2nd generation MPLK2LL/A, all bought in excellent shape used (from private individuals.)
And I realize the 2nd and 3rd generation likely will have a longer iOS lifespan looking ahead a year or two, and that it is theoretically faster, with some extra features. However, for my daily use now, they are the same.
The puzzle is that the tactile response (e.g. less stalling) has been better on the 1st generation models than the 2nd generation. Enough that I ended up putting the two AT&T 4G chips in the first generation model and using the 2nd generation as backup, bluetooth and home auxiliary. (I find having two nearby to be helpful.)
Was this simply an oddball situation?
Or have others run into this situation?
Sometimes I see good buys on 2nd and 3rd gen, especially around NYC (I travel down from Dutchess County), however I would have to give it a really good test, based on my experience.
Your thoughts?
Thanks!
