Difficult to replace Metal Case?

I have just received my second hand iPhone off of eBay, and (despite the seller not showing the correct photos (another story )) it has some dents and scratches on the back.

Scouring through eBay, I see you can buy replacement metal casing to replace with. Some in greens and reds which look quite cool.

I was wandering if anyone had tried to do this, and if so, is it something anyone can do? I would imagine it would be rather difficult, but I thought I'd check anyway, or, if anyone knew anyone who did replacements? phew. . .
