I have been watching tv shows off my iPad 2 on my flatscreen. The picture looks great!!! However, I can't surround sound off my receiver. Is there anyway of doing this? Do I simply need to run some audio cords to my receiver from the tv?? Any help which be much appreciated it!
Thank you!!

If your receiver has HDMI switching, then you would run the iPad 2 to the receiver first, and then get another HDMI cable and run that from the receiver to your TV.

If your receiver doesn't have HDMI switching, you can try running a mini stereo out cable from the headphone jack of the iPad and plug it into your receiver, but I'm not sure if the iPad will simultaneously output audio from the jack and the HDMI adapter.

Or, of course if your TV has audio out, you can run cables from there to your receiver as you suggested.
