iPad digital audio out of lightning connector to mac?

Curious, is it possible to output audio from the synthesizer applications from the lightning connector out to the mac?

The headphone jack is too low for such use.

There are speaker sets that use the lightning connected to receive audio from the iPad, I don't know why the same couldn't be true of a PC, just need to find the right software I'm guessing.

You have to buy the expensive Lightning to USB adapter and a USB audio interface like the Behringer UCA222.
