Greetings,
I have usually never had any issues with inserting my SD card into my iMac computer and it opening iPhoto and uploading all photos and movies that were recorded. Just recently, my sister bought a new Sony camera and it uses a newer SD card, she recorded a video and it did not show up, I could not manually open it and use iMovie either. Now I am looking into getting a newer, upgraded model digital camera (Soney NEX 3 or Olympus E-PLI) and don't want to run into this as I will be recording videos and want to make sure they are compatible and will show up in iPhoto and just play. Could someone please offer some advice. She was able to use her Sony editting system to write it to a DVD but then it only played on a blu-ray and not the iMac. She thought maybe it was because it was recorded in HD?? I just want to make sure I buy a camera that is easy to work with the Mac. Thanks.
