Had cracked digitizer. Removed without any problems (no ruined cables). Connected no digitizer, turned on and everything worked fine. Pulled off double side tape backing and stuck in place. Turned back on and only top half of digitizer would work. In my hast of getting digitizer separated before tape set up I tore the on/off cable. Installed new cable, another digitizer and now when I turn it on the lcd lights up very faintly. Could I now have a bad on/off cable since it did work before I tore the original one? I have another new on/off cable but just wonder if there could be something I'm missing before I embark on replacing it again.
