iPod touch Digitizer wont fit because of VERY small dent in corner? HELP!

I recently tried replacing a digitizer on an iPod 2nd Gen and upon try to clip down the new digitizer it wouldn't fit properly at the bottom left corner and i had to pretty much force it down by pushing the plastic clip on the digitizer inward so it would fit inside the metal case. Upon finally getting it to fit in the case, the glass became separated from the bezel, I'm assuming because it wouldn't bend like the plastic bezel did to fit in place, so all it could do was separate itself. So the glass was sticking upward and wasn't flush like it should be. I had to remove the whole digitizer again which was a pain but I managed to get it out in all one piece. Upon further inspection I realized there is a very small dent in the bottom left corner, I'm assuming it must have been dropped on that corner. I was able to put the original broken digitizer back in and it clipped down perfectly to my surprise. Does anyone have any advice on why the original digitizer will still fit, but the new one won't fit properly? And maybe a suggestion on how to repair the tiny dent which caused the corner to be very slightly mis-shapen? You can't even tell it is out of shape by looking at it, but if you feel it with your finger you can feel a VERY slight warp in the metal corner. I'd really like to be able to fix this, but I'm thinking it might be more of a hassle than it's worth and thinking about just re-selling it on eBay (thats where i bought it).

Best option would be to replace the back housing/bezel. If its a 2nd Gen iPod Touch this shouldnt be too hard, just be careful with ribbon cables
