Dim Icons Winterboard fix?

I would love to have dimmed icons and the plist edit in winterboard seems to do nothing for ios4. Anyone have a working one or idea/tweak?
Something like this:

it seems if u enable it in winterbaord and then pick one up as if you were to move it around and let go it dims.
very very odd.

unfortunately when a respring happens they all go back >.> lame

anyone have a legitimate fix?

I think Panorama can change the opacity for your icons.
