Dim Screen - iMac G5??

Hi all,
I have an iMac G5 1.8 20" , I have noticed this strange thing before....
the screen on my iMac "seems" tp be dimmer on the bottom and brighter on the top, I am not imagining this...LOL... I have checked the System Prefs out, loged out, redstarted, I have even opened an Illustrator doc, created a long rectangle filled it with yellow to check it and it looks like a very smooth gradient has been applied!! I have looked at the screen from all angles and adjusted the brightnes/contrast and it is still there!
Any advice - help out there?

Sounds like you have an issue with uneven backlighting. This is a hardware fault. If it's still covered take it to an Apple Store. If it's not prepare to spend big bucks

I've just shut down and restarted ...and ...you got it...its fine now!!!
As i said Ive seen this before... do you think it is worthwhile to bring in, I still have about 2 weeks on my warranty?

I'd be purchasing Apple Care if I were you....if it's still available.
