Hi guys,
I live in the UK and had to replace old incandescent B22 light bulbs in my living room. I first tried 60W LED equivalent (a dumb i.e. not smart bulb, Philips 8W, 806lm) but that was too dim. Then I replaced them with 100W equivalent Philips 13W, 1,521 lumen ones (dumb, too) and that's generally fine but sometimes it's a bit too harsh.

My ideal setup would be smart bulbs (with or without a hub) that work with both Homekit and Alexa and that I can adust between these two levels of intensity. Philips doesn't do anything in their Hue range that goes above 60W equivalent. I don't need to change the colour and am fine with 2,700K colour temperature.

Would anyone be able to recommend something?
Thanks a lot, community.

Get a smart dimmer switch instead. I have no idea what brands are available to you.

Thanks. Looks like I need a special (expensive) one for LED lights - Amazon reviews of "standard" dimmer switches seem to indicate they don't play well with low wattage LEDs.... rabbit hole!

HomeKit switches and dimmers are generally more on the expensive side but also generally have the electronics to work just fine with low wattage LED's. I have Leviton switches and dimmers throughout my house with LEDs on all of them (also ceiling fans and bathroom fans).

I did have an issue with 3 candelabras in a ceiling fan light but its related to a neutral and the way the house is wired. Using quality LED's in that fixture (Philips) sorted it out.

It doesn't sound like you are too happy with a single bulb in general. If possible (I realize that isn't always the case) I would consider multiple light sources. My office is the same way so I have a lamp in the corner of the room that is "grouped" to the ceiling fan light. Both of them set to medium intensity looks perfect for me and it leaves plenty of head room if I ever need a lot of light like when cleaning.
