I have an original iMac running operating system 9.2. I am donating it to a local organization that only needs it for basic dial-up internet and some word processing.

( FYI: believe it or not Copper.net actually still supports OS9 dial ups :D )

The internal modem quit many years ago in this iMac. The previous owners replaced the original internal modem with a external “Mac 2K USB V.90” modem. They said it worked just fine. ( I tend to believe them because, well, they’re my parents ;) )

The first problem is that I am unable to change the Modem setting in Control Panels to “external” vs “internal” modem. The second problem is that I am afraid I will need a modem script to drive this rather obscure modem.

The machine runs great for its age but, to resurrect it, did require a complete system install which washed away the previous modem settings.

So, how do I change the modem setting and will I need a specific modem script for this Dino?

Thanks in Advance!
