With iOS 8 apple has introduced the direct airplay so that we don't need a router in between to beam our stuff to tv through Apple TV.
Wanted to know whether this feature will be supported on all devices which will have iOS 8 include iPad 2 and iPhone 4S ?
I use my iPad 2 a lot to watch videos on TV but currently I connect with an original RCA cable.

When at home or a friends you can AirPlay to an AppleTV just over normal wifi. This feature is really for when visiting a corporate conference room where you may not be allowed on their wifi but you could direct connect to an AppleTV.

That said, the 4S and iPad 3 and later have Bluetooth 4.0 which I'm guessing will be required for this to work. So I bet iPad 2 will be left out.

But with a wifi connection it shouldn't matter. Or maybe you show corporate videos often? If so an AppleTV and $20 travel router would do the trick.

Im going to take a step further, and gamble on only AirDrop capable devices get this feature.

IPhone 5/iPad 4.
