Direct connect Synology NAS to Mac Mini

Help!

I am going mad, something that was so simple on my ReadyNas is a nightmare on this thing. I have a Synology DS412+ that I wish to directly connect to my Mac Mini via etehrnet.

I understand I need to set a static ips etc but am unsure.

Can anyone help?

You could also install the Synology DHCP service.

I will look into that.

I tried using the exact same setup i used on my old Ready Nas and it didnt work!
