Direct download from Dropbox web

How hard could it actually be to download a video file someone sends you a link to? I can't seem to figure this one out.

If the send you a link to the file, you need to just click on the link and follow the instructions.

Negative it opens in safari and you hit direct download and nothing happens.

I send files from my Dropbox account all the time. It basically give the receiver permission to view that file. All I can think is the link is defective.

Your misunderstanding. They sent me a video file to view n download the only option to download is to download to your Dropbox account
