Hey guys, first post here after a year or so of following. Just wanted to let anyone know that you might run into a problem with canceling a DFO from an AT&T store.
I put myself on the priority list at an Apple store last week, and after following threads on here thought I'd hedge my bets and order from AT&T. Always thought I could cancel the order as long as it hadn't shipped...this is not always the case.
Ordered a 32GB 7/1 from an AT&T store for direct fulfillment, then got my "your iPhone is here" email from Apple. Much to my frustration, AT&T couldn't cancel my order over the phone, and directed me to the store. However, the store can't cancel a DFO either, leaving me with an unusable reservation (as my upgrade eligibility is now tied to the backordered DFO), and being forced to wait for the order to come in.
So just a warning to make sure that whatever order you are making is able to be canceled if you're still looking for an ip4 out in the wild. Hopefully this will save someone else the same frustration.
