Is there any way to save directions to my ipod touch so I can use them later when I'm not in a Wi-Fi area? Is there an App that will do this or something similar for me?

That is a built in feature of google maps for one set of directions (you cannot save multiple directions)

You setup your directions when you are wifi connected. Start your trip, and page through the cached directions . You will have limited map zooming capabilities within the points (turn by turn directions), however it still beats going blind!

Aren't there other maps/direction applications besides Google maps? Is the touch limited to Google maps?

Why would you want to use anything else? Most of the other services are garbage, and since the touch doesn't have a built in GPS, many other services are useless anyway.

There is a jailbreak app that stores caches that you have to tell it to recover. Its got the functionality your looking for but its horribly confusing and i cant remember the name.

i usually just screen cap a few key screens along my route. then just bring them up in the photo app when you're offline.

I think this will work for me - Thanks.
Now , the stupid question, how do you screen cap on the touch.
Bare with me here, I'm learning.

I'm really only looking for a list of the directions to store on the touch for future reference. I'm not really talking about GPS functionality. I think that there are a few more maps apps out there besides Google, don't you? Thanks for your input.
