For those with DirectV....the new iPad App for DirecTV is now available on iTunes.

I tried to use it. Downloaded it, logged in, it asked me to log in on a different page, took me back to the original login, repeated 3 times. Deleted.

No streaming

No streaming - massive swing and... a massive miss.

Having said that, I will look at it tonight and see if what they've put together (minus streaming) is useful, there are probably some nice bits in there, but again, without streaming, massive miss.

Receivers?

I'm at work and can't check it out until late tonight. Does it specify which receivers it works with?

You do have to have Internet connectivity to your receivers for this app to work as well. I haven't yet gone to that point so the functionality of this app will be low until I do.

Do you need your receivers connected to the Internet?

I wanted to give this app a really good review. You do have to have the H20 reciever connected to your network, but it is really cool and hopefully a good sign for what is coming in the future from directv.

This is an absolutely amazing remote app, I couldn't believe how fast and responsive it was. It's faster and more convenient to browse the channel guide, change channels, and schedule recordings on the iPad than it is with the actual remote.

I have 3 HD DVRs and this app only works with two of them not the 3rd dvr. Is there a limit for receivers. All receivers are connected to internet. I even tried to enter IP# manually for the 3rd dvr but still would not show up in the app.

I really like the app. The guide and other menus on my HD-DVR tends to be very laggy and slow at times, so it's often quicker to check the guide or look at my DVR playlist on the iPad app.

Maybe this feature is in the app and I've just not figured it out yet...

I'd love to be able to do a search similar to the Smart Search (such as, find anything with Jeff Goldblum) that's on the HD DVR menu, then create a module that shows current and upcoming programs that match my search criteria.

Is this possible to do with the app?
