Hi,
I installed Windows 7 via bootcamp and I am loving it. It was a smooth process despite a couple of hiccups. (driver installation was hanging on nvidia display drivers the first time and had to restart the installation)
Anyway, I have a question. I installed a game this morning and I know that it needs DirectX to run. It even has a prompt on the game installation Window to install DirectX 9.
The game opened without installing DirectX. I doubt the Mac OS X disc took care of it, not sure why I was able to open it without even a prompt to install it.
Would it be ideal just to install the latest version, or install DirectX 9 with this game as it suggests and then update it if I need 10 or 11 for another game?
Would I see compatibility issues running a game that was intended for DirectX 9 with 11 or whatever the latest is these days installed?
EDIT: err, I think I am just going to install the End-User Runtime download.
