I had this same problem with my 5S. Dirt got under the clear case in the back - it then pretty much scratched the iPhone's back aluminium surface.

How have you addressed this? Is there such a thing as a clear film to put on the back aluminium and then place the clear case on top?

Now have an iPhone 6+ and don't want the same thing happening to it with the scratches.

I have the Spigen Ultra Hybrid Clear case and has never seen any dirt under it. I purchased the Belkin clear case for a friend and their iPhone has several scratches. My Spigen case gets dirty on the outside but I've yet to see any dirt hidden behind the case. You should try that. When you put the case on, make sure you clean it first. Clean the case and the iPhone #goodluck

Apple leather case in black FTW! Wrap your investment in leather not hard plastic.
