Hi all,

Does anybody know how to deactivate Adaptive Lighting in the Home app?

All of my Philips Hue bulbs have updated and are now "operating theatre bright". We have tried changing the tones by long-pressing and choosing one of the warmer shades, but it automatically pings back to ultra-bright within mere minutes.

Getting an ear bashing from my other half for updating the software. My bad!

Thanks

just select a different color, if you set a new color by the color wheels or presets, adaptive should turn off, and the highlight circle should be gone from the adaptive icon.

if you've recorded adaptive in scenes, or you have automations running, that might be causing some of your issues.

it shouldn't just be changing to ultra bright on it's own. it should say the same dim level and just slightly adjust the color temperature every few mintues. also I've noticed it warms as you dim the bulb, so at any given time 20% is more orange (warmer) than 100%

you might need to cycle power to your bridge

I am going with the brute force method. Changing the bulbs back to Crees and enabling the Lutron dimmer. This is an unmitigated mess, and I'm tired of hearing about it from my better half. Not good, Apple!

Are you running smart bulbs on a dimmer?
if so, try swapping one of those switches out for a good old fashioned dumb on/off switch.

Even if you have the dimmer set at full, it can still affect the power. Depending on the dimmer, it can chop the top and bottom of the sine wave off, which is fine for a regular bulb, but can cause havoc with electronics.

If you have the "power on behavior" set to "operating theater white", maybe your bulbs are getting dirty power from the dimmer switch, and think they're loosing power and getting it back.
