I've been paying attention to other people's Apple Watch's lately, why, I don't know. Something I've noticed is most people don't have always on display enabled. I don't know if it's people with older watches that don't have that feature or if you get much improved battery life. Your guys thoughts would be appreciated!

When I first got the early Apple Watches, I hated that the display turned off. I had an S0 and an S4. Then I got an Ultra and thought I'd finally gotten to a point that I could go back to checking the time with a glance rather than having to make a show of raising my wrist.

Then I disabled AoD. I guess I got used to it the old way and was getting distracted by the light-- it's still not the same as an analog watch that is dark in the dark, it's a little flashlight on your wrist. I don't like that notifications show. And turning it off gives me even longer battery life, so off it is.

Not what I expected I'd do, but here I am.

It doesn't seem to have much battery impact at all in my experience, although I do have a scheduled shortcut to turn it off during the night and then back on in the morning.

So always on when I'm awake, but when I'm sleeping so is the display.
